In order to contribute meaningfully to the student body, SMF also hosts a series of financial career education based events. The flagship events of SMF are our stock pitches that occur at the end of each semester in November and March.
Fall Stock Pitch
The annual Fall Stock Pitch provides attendees with an insightful presentation by the analyst teams of the Student Managed Fund, showcasing a diversified equity portfolio of the fund's stock selections for the semester. The Student Managed Fund at UTSC fosters student engagement and offers valuable opportunities for students to deepen their understanding of global capital markets and portfolio management.

SMF Annual General Meeting
The 2024/25 Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity for attendees to learn from SMF's current and past executives. They will discuss SMF’s purpose, structure, and summarize the performance of the fund over the past year. SMF's representatives will offer insights into the fund's outlook and strategies to maximize returns, as well as provide resources to students for their learning.

The first stock pitch of 2021-2022 will allow students an inside view of our Fall portfolio picks. Each of our three teams will offer an overview of their analysis and present to our Board of Directors. Presentations are concluded with a Q&A session from the Board of Directors.
